Sh. Sarwan Singh Chandi belongs to village Boolpur Distt Kapurthala. Born in 1964 in poor family having very scanty resources and little land holding. He has earned his name in the farming in the field of Bee-Keeping and vegetable cultivation . He has got training course in the honey bee farming from the Agriculture Department and started the profession of Bee Keeping by purchasing just 5 Honey bee boxes from the Agri Deptt . on subsidy . At present he has 350 Honey Bee hives. His annual total production is 60-70 Qtl at present. He sells his product in the market after taking AGMARK certificate from Agriculture Department . Now he is president of Doaba Honey Bee – Keeping Society Regd. and also General Secretary Doaba Honey Bee- Keeping Association .He is also Executive member of National Bee-Keeping Board beside PAU Kissan Club member and social worker.He is also giving trainings free of cost to unemployed youth in Bee-Keeping . Presently he is not only getting good returns from his profession but also providing Honey Bee Boxes to beneficiaries under National Horticulture Mission Programme through Department of Horticulture and getting extra income .

He takes keen interest in Kissan Mela organized by PAU and got many awards in quality competition of vegetables and honey . He has been awarded Chief Minister award on 13-14 March,’08 Kissan Mela at PAU.

He has scientific temper and has installed a vermicompost unit,Tensiometer and Leafcolour chart techniques at his farm . He takes interest in social works and provide free saplings of trees , fruit plants to needy and deserving peoples and is helping in saving environment pollution . He is also cultivating vegetables like potates , peas , raddish , cauiflower etc on his farm . With the guidance of the Horticulture Department he has installed Net House at his farm  with the financial assistant of Farmer Commission Punjab and is producing vegetables like okra , brinjal, tomato,to obtain good yield and high income from this profession.

In future programmes Automatic Honey Processing Plant is under construction and he is also planning to setup processing of fruits and vegetables by making jam, squash,pickle,sauce , preserves at home scale .
